Almost 200 children took part in the "Prof. Ivan Slavkov" Cup tournament

The team of “National” won the tournament “Prof. Ivan Slavkov” Cup for second consecutive year.

The Football 7 tournament for children, born 2008 was held at the National stadium “Vasil Levski” in Sofia.

The tournament was organized by the BFU`s Zonal Council – Sofia in cooperation with "National Sports Facilities Company" in memory of the former BFU president and chairman of BOC. The format of the tournament was football 7 for children born in 2008 and was held between May 12-14.

In the final the young talents of “National’ outplayed “Tsarsko selo” 2:1 after penalties. In the regular time the match ended 1:1.

Ivan Slavkov`s wife – Valya and BFU vice-president Mihail Kasabov were special guests at the tournament and awarded the first two teams with the trophies.

“Slavia” finished in third position after beating “Levski” 6:2. The Chairman of BFU Zonal Council Valentin Chakurov and Amateur Football League`s President Rumen Valkov awarded the young talents of “Slavia” and “Levski”.

12 team took part in the three-day tournament - “Levski” (Sofia), “Levski-Rakovski” (Sofia), “Slavia” (Sofia), “Lokomotiv 1929” (Sofia), DIT Sofia, “Tsarsko selo” (Sofia), "National" (Sofia), "Ferion" (Sofia), "Septemvri" (Sofia), "BM Sport" (Sofia) and "Sofia Sport".

The teams have played 36 exciting games with many goals scored. Nearly 200 kids competed at the National Stadium, demonstrating their skills, qualities and fairplay for the joy of their parents and coaches.

All of the children received medals, kits, balls, food and drinks provided by the Bulgarian Football Union and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
