Bulgaria lost to England 0:2 in its first game in Group “B” at the UEFA U19 European Championship in Georgia which was played at Mikheil Meskhi-2 Stadium in Tbilisi.

First half

The “young” lions received a goal in the first minute of the match. Dujon Sterling made inroads down the right before cutting a ball back for Mount to calmly dispatch a low drive across Dimitar Sheytanov and into the far corner. During the first part the Bulgarians could have equalized at least four times. Just five minutes later Petko Hristov`s header from a corner kick was cleared by Dasilva. In the 21st minute England goalie Ramsdale was at the right place and saved Tilev`s powerful shot. A minute later Kalayan Krastev`s header went centimeters off the left post. In the 33rd minute Ramsdale once again made a fantastic save. Ivan Tilev’s free-kick from deep was flicked goalwards by the head of Hristov but the goalie was alert to tip the effort over. 


Second half

England started the second half as they did the first –with a goal. A move down the left between Ben Brereton and Sessegnon gave the Fulham player only goalkeeper Sheytanov to beat and he made no mistake. In the 73rd minute Tilev tried to score from distance, but Ramsdale kept his sheet clean once again. Until the end Yanev and Naydenov missed the target.

Bulgaria`s next game is against Germany on 6th of July.
