The Executive Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union today voted Mladen Krstajić as Bulgarian senior men’s team head coach. The 48-year-old Serbian will assume the position with immediate effect and will make his debut in the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Gibraltar and North Macedonia in September.
Mr. Krstajić’s assistants will be Nemanja Miličić and Stefan Janković, and Darko Božović will be the goalkeeping coach.
Mladen Krstajić is one of Serbian football’s most famous names both as a central defender for FK Partizan Belgrade, Werder Bremen and Schalke 04, and as a head coach. He led Serbia to the 2018 World Cup finals and his last managerial job was at Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv.
